Over its more than twenty years of existence, Farm in the Cave has been passing on its way of working with physical and musical expression in international workshops which are based on their experiences from their research, training and performance creation.
What lies beneath the marketing created images of the corporations whose products we consume daily? And “who is” this corporation?
They set out on a journey. Out of fear. With no guarantees. The paths of three runaways intersect. At the point of no return, all that remains is awakening.
Fragments of an absurd mother-daughter relationship appear in a kaleidoscope of situations from other lives lived without recognizing their sense and direction, between fun and powerlessness, narcissism and fear of death. The present alternates with the past, and rejection with the desire for closeness. Time passes, the elevator is rising, and the party has to end sometime. We’ve grown old. Does it surprise us?
The composed evening; Farm in the Cave gives the audience a chance to not only look inside different cultures, but also into the life of an ensemble thought-out a period of ten years.
Performance The Theatre is a way of searching for human freedom within a social system. Freedom, however gradually becomes merely a game, theater. For whom and why do we play?
The show speaks about memory versus the presence of a place. In the waiting-room, a place in-between, „accidental“ travellers meet and the dead return, not by accident.
The performance Dark Love Sonnets views the changes in the world and its ways during one life time through the prism of poetic vision and the philosophical background of duende.
The architecture and history of the railway station Žilina – Záriečie. Studying Slovak Tango. Researching the historical and political influences on this tiny region in the 1930’s and now – nationalism then and now.
The scenic composition is based on field research the Farm in the Cave did in villages of eastern Slovakia, on old Ruthenian and Ukrainian songs, on letters of Slovak emigrants, and on the story of Karel Čapek ’s Hordubal.
Searching for themes in the villages of Eastern Slovakia. Emigration then and now – stories, songs and letters. Researching intonations and melodies of Ruthenian, Sarisin and Ukrainian origin.

Three choirs, three conductors, and forty voices on stage at Švandovo Theater. This is a unique meeting of original interpreters like the actress and singer Mariana Sadovska, the Derevjanky Trio and others.
The international theater project Journey to the Station concluded with a performance of the same name which brought the building of the small railway station together with 62 participants from varied cultural backgrounds.
In order to create a project with the working title “Lorca,” a group of young actors under the direction of Viliam Dočolomanský were invited on a trip to Andalucía along with filmmakers J & J Jakubisko Film.
