The corporation. What is it really? How great is their power? Do we know how much they impact us? What are we taking part in?
Whistleblowers is a probe that examines the nature of the system that we live in – it’s based around a current event that had its scandalous judicial finale just last year. A here unnamed giant food corporation were placing agents among a group of young activists, young women who using a false name feigned interest in obtaining information about the dark side of the corporation. In reality she was passing the corporation personal information about activists in the network. These events are connected to the still unexplained murders of union protest leaders who were working for the corporation in third world countries.
The creators were inspired by their interviews with the victims in this case, as well as with influential corporate lobbyists that they visited in Brussels. You will hear real facts and testimonies in this performance, but do not expect to see traditional political theater. This performance by Farm in the Cave is another targeted penetration by these artists into a field that was hitherto unknown to them. Their long process of laboratory research using “devised theater” methods combines actions, videoprojection, words and live music, creating multi-layered compositions that attempt to communicate an experience that goes beyond the borders of our everyday perceptions of reality.
