"When you watch a  Farm in the Cave performance, you don't know if you're watching dance, theatre or a concert. But one thing is clear, it's contemporary performance art," said Assen Assenov, Director of One Dance Week International Festival. His words accurately capture the essence of our approach to the expression of the performer, which Farm in the Cave, under the direction of Viliam Dočolomanský, has developed over its more than 20 years of existence.

We often hear that the Farm has an unmistakable signature. This lies not only in combining physical theatre with current social issues, but also in the specific work with the performers' expression, their personal physical and mental commitment, musicality and highly dynamic movement.

All of our performers work with our director and choreographer, Viliam Dočolomanský, who, in collaboration with the other founders of Farm in the Cave, has created a specific way of working with the body and expression, strongly rooted in music and theatre. We call it Immerse Performing. It makes Farm in the Cave different from other Czech dance and physical theatre companies and gives it a strong position on the international theatre scene.

But we also pass Immerse Performing on to the next generations. We offer multi-day workshops where participants learn to create their own physical scores – unique body compositions that are the foundation for powerful and original stage moments. Participants develop their movement language and immerse themselves in a world where the body becomes a key tool for expression.

The next workshop will take place from 16 to 20 May 2025 at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague. Are you interested in exploring new movement languages and delving into an experimental approach to the body and theatre making? Join us and experience this unique opportunity for personal and artistic growth. The workshop will be led by Viliam Dočolomanský and the performers of Farm in the Cave. More details about the workshop can be found here.
