In March 2017 Farm in the Cave prepared a 4-days micro-event of community and social theatre, dealing with the topic of seniors in contemporary Czech society. Selected group of seniors were involved as performers and artistic collaborators into the event and their creations presented to the public.
CARAVAN NEXT, project that Farm in Cave takes part in, is a large-scale Social Community Theatre collaborative project connecting professional artists with communities and local citizens in a network of theatre organisations and cultural institutions all over Europe.
Senior citizens, non-actors have co-created the performance Together Forever! working closely with company members and performers Hana Varadzinová and Eliška Vavříková and they all perform together as well.
The idea of involving Prague seniors, with no previous experience of creating physical theatre on a professional level, led to the creation of a unique community in which the generation gap and disdain that old people in the twilight of their lives frequently experience, disappeared. So, at least within the scope of this project, we have created a model of discrimination-free coexistence that is rare in today’s society.
The micro-event Night in the City and other activities are carried out in co-operation with the Elpida Center and with high school students.
